Bean Pies.....Like Mother, Like Daughter-in-law?

Ali was around 7 years old when he used to sit around his mother’s kitchen, in Dorchester, Massachusetts, and watch her bake her famous bean pie, and peach cobbler. He used to enjoy watching people from the neighborhood and from different areas of Boston come to the house to buy her delicious pies and cakes. He even remembers, on one occasion, when a famous 70’s soul singer by the name of Joe Tex, stopped by the house to buy a few of her pies. Whether she was at a bizarre, a bake sale or any type of informal gathering, her baked goods were always in demand. When Ali became an adult, he had hoped to help his mother market her baked items. But buy then, she was much older, and health concerns had kept her out of the kitchen.

Shortly after his mother’s passing, Ali noticed that his wife Nadine began taking an interest in baking the bean pie. Ali gave Nadine his mother’s personal recipes and he never really thought much about it...until one day, a neighbor came by the house and asked to buy a pie. Then all of a sudden, it hit him. Ali knew who was supposed to be baking these pies. He went right over to his desk to find a photograph of Nadine that he could use as a label for the pies. Ironically enough, it was a photo of them on their wedding day. On that day, the “Sister Nadine’s” brand was born. Nadine has been selling baked goods ever since, and by the way, wherever “Sister Nadine’s” products are sold, they too are always in demand.
